Building permits 2025

The Department of Supervision and Legal Affairs wishes to inform the community of Aruba about how many building permits were applied for and how many building permits were granted in the year 2024.

Below is an overview of the number of building permit applications the department received between January 6, 2025 and 28 december 2025

Aangevraagde bouwvergunningen: 1043

Verleende bouwvergunningen: 945

Afgewezen bouwvergunningen: 268

Bouwvergunningen in behandeling: 906

Have you recently received a plot of land? To submit an application for a building permit, you must bring the following documents to DOW.

For a residential home:

  1. House plan (architectural drawings), 2 copies
  2. Site location plan (situational drawing), 2 copies
  3. Structural drawings and calculations, 2 copies
  4. Notarial deed or a Ministerial Decree, 1 copy
  5. A form of identification, 1 copy
  6. Completed DOW application form
  7. Payment of Afl. 200

For a commercial building:

  1. Commercial building plans (architectural drawings), 4 copies
  2. Site location plan (situational drawing), 4 copies
  3. Structural drawings and calculations, 2 copies
  4. Notarial deed or a Ministerial Decree, 1 copy
  5. A form of identification, 1 copy
  6. Completed DOW application form
  7. Completed DTI form
  8. Payment of Afl. 200
